For Functional Glass Research Institute, Ltd. 2012 is the year for commencing our new challenges.
There were trials and tribulations for companies in Japan in 2011 due to the Great East Japan Earthquake,
Thailand Flooding Disaster and sharp appreciation of the yen. However, we take these extreme conditions as
opportunities for further improvement. We will make the utmost effort to promote our business with entrepreneurial spirit.
We have been devoted to the development of glass material products mainly for optoelectronics.
Now we are sure that the fine processing of glass has more possibilities in the development of biomedicine
and car electronics and even for home automation and building materials.
We will take the first step to offer our services in time for the creation of attractive new products in these fields.
For marketing activities, we will enhance our solution service business.
For R&D activities, we will create innovations and offer constructive support for in-depth solutions for next generation business.
Of course, as before, we will continue to promptly meet customer requirements for needed materials.
There is an old legend called Yu Gong Moved Away Mountains included in an ancient book of fables Retsushi (or Liezi),
which was written in China in the Age of the Warring States.
The story became very famous when Mao Zedong cited the story in his speech in the twentieth century.
We believe that big challenges and tasks that seem very difficult to tackle can be solved as
if you move a mountain with ceaseless effort and confidence.
With this spirit, we devote to ourselves to service for our customers.
